Welcome to the Melplash Show
2013 Melplash Show - Thursday 22nd August
The Showcase for West Dorset farmers & food producers in Bridport, Dorset
The Melplash Agricultural Show takes place at the Showground, West Bay, Bridport on Thursday 22nd August 2013. Attracting around 18,000 visitors a year from town and country, it is no surprise that it is regarded as the South West’s Premier one day Agricultural Show, and is known by regular visitors as the ‘friendly’ Show.

The Melplash Agricultural Society is launching a new competition for Rural Crafts. The competition will be open to craftsmen and women living within a twelve mile radius of Melplash Church and who derive their livelihood or a greater part of it from their craft. Entrants will be judged in the summer months working on site or in the workshop. Pictured is Guy Gale thatching the ridge of Rose Cottage, Netherbury with Ian Hobday his assistant.
The handicrafts, horticulture and home produce competition classes have long been one of the highlights of the Melplash Show and this year will be no exception. They are the perfect opportunity for people of all ages and talents to showcase their creativity and hobbies. This year, as always, the Society Section Chairpersons and their team of helpers have put together an action packed line-up to appeal to both participants and attendees. Whether you grow vegetables, flowers, paint, draw, sew or bake there is a category for you; and classes for children as well as adults.
